Deck overview

This is a Dimir theft-and-monarch midrange deck helmed by Garland, Royal Kidnapper. The core plan is to install Garland, force the monarch onto opponents, and permanently siphon their best creatures-stolen bodies get +2/+2 and cannot be sacrificed. A dense package of classic Control Magic effects, ETB thieves, reanimation, and the Court cycle (Court of Ambition, Court of Locthwain, Court of Vantress) layers additional permanent theft and monarch value. Clones and flicker pieces multiply the best stolen threats while a premium counter suite protects the engine. Primary wins come from combat with a growing board of opponents' own creatures plus steady drain and free casts from the Courts; there are no infinite combo lines. Garland is the central trigger engine but the 99 already contains enough standalone theft and reanimation that the deck still functions when he is answered.
