Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger strategy led by Alania, Divergent Storm. It focuses on chaining low-cost instants and sorceries to generate overwhelming card velocity, mana, and direct burn damage. In the early game, the deck establishes mana rocks and cost reducers like Goblin Electromancer and Stormcatch Mentor. Once Alania enters the battlefield, she copies the first instant, sorcery, and Otter spell cast each turn, giving an opponent a card in exchange for doubled spell efficiency. The deck transitions into a decisive win on Turn 6 by generating massive mana through Mana Geyser or Storm-Kiln Artist, flashing back spells with Past in Flames or Mizzix's Mastery, and burning out the entire table in a single turn using Crackle with Power, Guttersnipe, or Fiery Inscription. It combines deep card filtering with explosive spell-copying power.
