Deck overview

This Sultai deck helmed by Teval, the Balanced Scale blends self-mill, land recursion, and token swarm strategies into a resilient midrange game plan. The deck spends its first three turns fixing colors and filling the graveyard with enablers like Hedron Crab, Stitcher's Supplier, and Rampant Growth. Once Teval enters on Turn 4 and attacks on Turn 5, it ramps lands directly from the graveyard while generating 2/2 Zombie Druid tokens whenever cards leave the graveyard. The deck compounds this board presence through landfall powerhouses like Scute Swarm, Field of the Dead, and Avenger of Zendikar. It closes games on Turn 7 by pumping the swarm with Craterhoof Behemoth, granting evasion through Wonder, or sacrificing a massive Lord of Extinction to Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. With deep recursion from Muldrotha, the Gravetide, Six, and cheap reanimation spells, the engine recovers rapidly from board wipes, though it remains vulnerable to targeted graveyard exile.
