Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis midrange strategy that harnesses Sauron, the Dark Lord to turn opponent actions into an overwhelming board presence and continuous card advantage. By triggering Amass whenever opponents cast spells, the deck generates large Army tokens that attack with evasion granted by the Ring-bearer mechanic. Each successful combat connection allows you to cycle your hand for four new cards, filling the graveyard with high-impact creatures such as The Balrog of Moria and Cavern-Hoard Dragon. The deck then uses reanimation spells like Reanimate and Living Death to flood the battlefield with massive threats while clearing opposing blockers. With resilient built-in ward protection on its commander, a flexible suite of board wipes, and scaling token payoffs, the deck steadily outvalues the table before closing the game through coordinated combat damage by Turn 8.
