Deck overview

This Mardu Voltron deck pairs Akiri, Line-Slinger and Falthis, Shadowcat Familiar to assemble an aggressive, evasive combat engine. Akiri gains power for every artifact on your battlefield, while Falthis grants her menace and deathtouch. When combined with Akiri's innate first strike and vigilance, she kills any blocking creature before receiving damage, attacks through double-blocks safely, and stays untapped to block on defense. The 99 supports this commander pair with a low-curve artifact shell consisting of artifact lands, cheap mana rocks, and efficient treasure producers such as Guild Artisan, Professional Face-Breaker, and Descent into Avernus. Equipment tutors quickly find defensive pieces like Robe of Stars or evasion tools like Vorrac Battlehorns. Secondary win conditions include massive double strike bursts via Boros Charm or Bronze Guardian, along with direct burn from Ingenious Artillerist and Reckless Fireweaver whenever artifacts enter the battlefield.
