Brainstorm? More Like Brain Damage by 666Thanatos666

Format: Commander

Commander: Hidetsugu and Kairi

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Dimir clone-and-reanimation deck built around Hidetsugu and Kairi's death trigger, which exiles the top card of the library and lets you cast it for free if it's an instant or sorcery. The deck's primary plan is to ramp into the commander, sacrifice it with a payoff like Ashnod's Altar or Saw in Half, and use the free spell to chain extra turns (Time Stretch, Temporal Trespass) or mass reanimation (Rise of the Dark Realms). The secondary win condition stacks life loss from multiple death triggers, while a dense copy-spell package (over 20 clone effects) multiplies the commander's ETB and death triggers for explosive value. The deck lacks traditional tutors but compensates with extreme redundancy in its clone role, making it a slow but resilient value engine that grinds toward inevitability through extra turns and board dominance.
