Commander: Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit and Sam, Loyal Attendant

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Abzan deck uses Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit and Sam, Loyal Attendant to turn Food and lifegain into a wide token army. Sam makes a Food each combat and makes Food cheaper to crack for 3 life, which lets Frodo attack, trigger the Ring, and draw cards. Payoffs like Heliod, Sun-Crowned, Griffin Aerie, and Crested Sunmare convert each 3-life gain into counters and free creatures. The hidden commander is Heliod, Sun-Crowned, which turns every Food and lifegain trigger into permanent growth. Secondary paths win without combat through Mirkwood Bats, Gollum, Obsessed Stalker, and Rapacious Guest drains, or with Frodo, Sauron's Bane after four Ring tempts.
