Deck overview

This deck executes an aggressive Voltron game plan led by Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist and Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh. Rograkh provides a zero-mana creature with built-in evasion—first strike, menace, and trample—while Ardenn bypasses heavy equip costs at the beginning of combat. By cheating equip costs onto high-impact armaments like Colossus Hammer, Kaldra Compleat, and Blackblade Reforged, the deck rapidly scales Rograkh into a lethal commander damage threat. Because it operates largely in mono-white despite Rograkh's red identity, the deck relies on white's Equipment synergy pieces like Puresteel Paladin, Sram, Senior Edificer, and Balan, Wandering Knight. Its primary limitation is sequential combat: eliminating three separate opponents at 40 life requires multiple combat turns, giving the table ample opportunity to draw sweepers or targeted removal. A low land count and limited ramp also make recovery demanding if the initial board is answered.
