Shay, Bounty Hunter Voltron by Pixelated_Crusader

Format: Commander

Commander: Shay Cormac

Bracket: 3

DeckCheck Threat Index: 36

Deck overview

This deck executes a control-voltron strategy centered on Shay Cormac, using opposing creatures as fuel for lethal commander damage. The 99 features more than twenty low-cost removal spells that place bounty counters on opposing threats and grow Shay Cormac by two +1/+1 counters whenever a marked creature dies. Shay's activated ability removes hexproof, indestructible, ward, protection, and shroud for just one mana, ensuring opposing creatures cannot evade interaction. In the early turns, the deck deploys card-draw engines and equips Shay with evasion pieces like Brotherhood Regalia or Swiftfoot Boots. As opposing commanders and key creatures are systematically removed, Shay rapidly grows into an unblockable lethal threat, eliminating opponents sequentially by Turn 9. While the deck boasts format-level permanent removal density, its lack of stack countermagic and reliance on multi-turn combat steps leave it vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and non-permanent combo wins.
