Deck overview

This Mardu deck utilizes Extus, Oriq Overlord primarily for its sorcery back face, Awaken the Blood Avatar. The deck focuses on generating wide boards of low-cost creature tokens using recurring engines like Bitterblossom, Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, and Sedgemoor Witch. It converts these disposable tokens into massive cost reductions for Awaken the Blood Avatar, casting it early and repeatedly for just two colored mana. Each cast strips opponents of creatures via forced sacrifice while generating 3/6 Avatar tokens with haste that burn the entire table on attack. Aristocrat staples such as Mirkwood Bats, Mayhem Devil, and Blood Artist amplify the life loss, turning every token creation and sacrifice into direct damage. Highly flexible removal spells and token-doubling enchantments provide solid board control and exponential damage scaling.
