Deck overview

This mono-black Zombie tribal deck is commanded by Ghoulcaller Gisa, focusing on generating exponential token swarms and converting them into board dominance and aristocrat life drain. The game plan centers on deploying efficient early Zombies, casting Gisa on Turn 4 or 5, and activating her sacrifice ability to multiply power into 2/2 Zombie tokens. The deck amplifies this wide board with classic Zombie lords such as Undead Warchief, Death Baron, and Cemetery Reaper, granting widespread stat boosts, menace, and deathtouch. When combat is obstructed, aristocrat payoffs like Ayara, First of Locthwain, Vengeful Dead, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel convert creature deaths and devotion into direct life drain across all opponents. While the deck boasts high functional redundancy and resilient graveyard recursion through cards like Lord of the Undead and Gravecrawler, it operates at a fair midrange tempo due to modest ramp, lack of stack interaction, and reliance on natural draws.
