Grixis Control by Balphy

Format: Commander

Commander: Marchesa, Dealer of Death

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Grixis crime-control midrange deck helmed by Marchesa, Dealer of Death. Every piece of targeted interaction is also card selection: whenever you commit a crime, paying Marchesa, Dealer of Death's 1 digs two deep and filters one to hand. The 99 backs that engine with a dense instant-speed answer suite, pillowfort deterrents, and a reanimation/theft package (Grave Betrayal, Geth, Lord of the Vault, Chainer, Dementia Master, Breach the Multiverse, Living Death) that turns opponents' graveyards into your board. Finishers are classic haymakers-Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, Massacre Wurm, Hullbreaker Horror, and drain engines like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and Painful Quandary. The deck wins by answering everything, looting value off every crime, then closing with stolen armies or annihilator threats rather than a fast combo kill.
