Oloro's Citadel by EDHCommander

Format: Commander

Commander: Oloro, Ageless Ascetic

Bracket: 5

DeckCheck Threat Index: 88

Deck overview

This deck is a competitive Esper combo-control deck centered on executing the format's premier win condition: Thassa's Oracle paired with Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact. While Oloro, Ageless Ascetic remains in the command zone providing continuous life gain to fuel life-for-cards engines such as Ad Nauseam, Necropotence, and Bolas's Citadel, the 99 is constructed for maximum velocity, tutor density, and stack interaction. Backed by free countermagic like Force of Will and Pact of Negation, the deck consistently threatens a protected same-turn win by Turn 3. It utilizes a singleton mana base to ensure Tainted Pact functions flawlessly and leverages powerful advantage engines like Mystic Remora and Rhystic Study to grind through opposing interaction. Redundant win lines through Jace, Wielder of Mysteries, Doomsday, and Aetherflux Reservoir provide resilience against target removal or interaction.
