Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Stax Aggro build designed for competitive Commander environments. It uses commanders Karlach, Fury of Avernus and Feywild Visitor alongside independent combat engines like Slicer, Hired Muscle and Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos. Dense fast mana allows the deck to deploy asymmetric lock pieces on Turns 1 and 2, including Blood Moon, Back to Basics, and Cursed Totem. These stax elements severely disrupt multicolored mana bases, mana dorks, and graveyard combo lines. Karlach provides an additional combat phase and first strike each turn, turning even modest boards into lethal clocks while generating flying Faerie Dragon tokens. The deck defends its board and disrupts opponents with a suite of free counterspells like Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, and Deflecting Swat. Card advantage engines like The One Ring and Rhystic Study maintain momentum, leading to a reliable table elimination by Turn 5.
