Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan +1/+1 counters midrange strategy helmed by the partner commanders Yannik, Scavenging Sentinel and Nikara, Lair Scavenger. The core game plan focuses on deploying efficient low-curve creatures, accumulating counters through incremental engines like Hardened Scales, Bristly Bill, Spine Sower, and Dusk Legion Duelist, and then casting the commanders to accelerate both board power and card velocity. Yannik acts as a versatile flicker outlet and counter multiplier by exiling a creature to distribute its power as +1/+1 counters, while Nikara converts every counter-bearing creature's death or exile into fresh cards. The deck transitions into a lethal threat around Turn 6 using exponential scaling engines like Ouroboroid and Ornery Tumblewagg, supported by a dense defensive package including Heroic Intervention and Inspiring Call to protect against removal as it eliminates opponents through combat.
