The deck spends life deliberately - Black Market Connections, Dark Confidant, Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, fetchlands, and painlands - then re-gains it in bursts from Soul Warden, Essence Warden, Archangel of Thune, Rhox Faithmender, and Cleric Class to charge Betor's end-step trigger: +1/+1 counters on a threat plus a free reanimation capped by the life lost that turn. A 15+ card self-mill and land-recursion package (Underrealm Lich, Doom Whisperer, World Shaper, Six, Lumra, Bellow of the Woods, Aftermath Analyst) fills and exploits the graveyard, while Sun Titan, Sheoldred, Whispering One, and Breach the Multiverse turn it into a relentless battlefield.
