Deck overview

The deck uses Smaug, Wicked Worm, Dragons, and Treasures as a high-power midrange engine. Its main line is to establish Dragon Tempest, deploy a large Dragon, and use haste, entry damage, combat damage, and Treasure production to snowball. Smaug, Wicked Worm is especially strong when opponents control artifacts because it creates tapped Treasures on entry; later, spending those Treasures on spells draws cards. The deck has useful backup engines in Prosper, Tome-Bound, Professional Face-Breaker, Goldspan Dragon, Ganax, Astral Hunter, and Rivaz of the Claw. Scourge of Valkas and Terror of the Peaks turn each additional Dragon into direct damage. The weaknesses are slow assembly, limited protection, almost no stack interaction, and reliance on creatures surviving long enough to produce several attacks. It is a strong casual or high-power combat deck, but not a compact competitive combo deck.
