Format: Commander

Commander: Old Rutstein

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Old Rutstein is a self-mill value engine that turns every upkeep into an Insect, Treasure, or Blood token. The primary plan is to fill the graveyard with creatures and lands, then convert that mass into attacks with oversized ground threats and token swarms, or into drains with Syr Konrad, Dreadhound, and Gray Merchant. Living Death and Lich-Knights' Conquest serve as the explosive reanimation turns, while Matzalantli/The Core provides a late-game mana battery for Syr Konrad activations. The deck has no hidden commander; it is a straightforward Golgari graveyard value deck that can pivot between combat and milling opponents to death.
