Deck overview

This Dimir artifact midrange deck leverages Golbez, Crystal Collector as a recursive engine and burn outlet. The deck rapidly develops low-cost artifacts, mana rocks, and token producers like Sai, Master Thopterist and Simulacrum Synthesizer to reach Golbez's four-artifact and eight-artifact thresholds. Each artifact entering triggers surveil 1, filling the graveyard with high-power artifact behemoths such as Ancient Stone Idol, Metalwork Colossus, and Cityscape Leveler. At four artifacts, Golbez recovers these threats to hand each end step; at eight artifacts, he drains every opponent for life equal to the returned card's power. Backup plans include direct reanimation with Reanimate, overwhelming token combat with scaling Constructs, and drain from Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge. A potent suite of free and efficient counterspells—including Pact of Negation, Mindbreak Trap, and Swan Song—protects the board while disrupting critical opposing lines.
