building doran by ManducoLocem

Format: Commander

Commander: Doran, Besieged by Time

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

There is no double-faced commander; this Abzan toughness-matters deck is built around Doran, Besieged by Time as a cost reducer and combat pump. The main path is to field high-toughness/low-power creatures, convert that toughness into damage with Doran the Siege Tower / Assault Formation / Bedrock Tortoise / Felothar / Baldin, then alpha-strike all opponents with the commander's attack trigger and Baldin's hand-size pump. Doran, the Siege Tower acts as the hidden commander of the 99. Secondary lines use Tree of Redemption + Last March of the Ents to draw a huge chunk of the deck and dump creatures, plus Tree of Perdition and Betor to accelerate life loss. It is a resilient casual midrange build with no infinite combos.
