Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu battlecruiser strategy commanded by Kaalia of the Vast. Its primary plan centers on deploying Kaalia on Turn 4 and attacking on Turn 5 to cheat massive, game-warping Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. With over twenty high-cost aerial payoffs, the deck routinely puts overwhelming power into play without paying full mana costs. Supporting enchantments like Dragon Tempest and True Conviction amplify this combat output, while Mudslide and Archfiend of Depravity keep opposing ground armies in check. The deck can also execute an infinite combat combo using Hellkite Charger and Sword of Feast and Famine whenever seven land mana is available. While highly explosive in casual pods, the strategy relies heavily on Kaalia surviving an untap cycle and is vulnerable to targeted removal and countermagic.
