Kaalia by PCThirtyFive

Format: Commander

Commander: Kaalia of the Vast

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Kaalia of the Vast is the entire engine of this Mardu flier deck. The primary plan is to accelerate into Kaalia, protect her with hexproof and indestructible, then attack each turn to cheat Angels, Demons, and Dragons from hand into play tapped and attacking. Secondary paths use reanimation from Animate Dead, Necromancy, Sheoldred, Whispering One, and Ancient Brass Dragon, plus treasure and card advantage from Prosper, Tome-Bound and Smothering Tithe. There is no hidden commander; Kaalia's trigger defines the shell. Most wins come from overwhelming flying combat, often doubled by Bloodletter of Aclazotz, Aurelia, the Warleader's extra combat, and Strionic Resonator copying Kaalia's trigger.
