Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius tap-control and tempo midrange list commanded by Hylda of the Icy Crown. Its strategy revolves around turning tap effects from defensive utility into offensive board presence and card advantage. By paying one mana whenever an opponent's creature is tapped, Hylda creates 4/4 Elemental tokens, buffs the board, or scries and draws cards. The deck controls the flow of combat with continuous tapping enablers, stun counters, and asymmetric mass-tap sorceries like Sleep and Cone of Cold. Once a board of 4/4 Elementals is established alongside lock pieces like Opposition or Junk Winder, opponents find their lands and attackers frozen while Hylda's army swings through defenseless boards for lethal combat damage around turns 6 to 7. Reliable interaction, steady card flow, and backup beaters ensure resilience.
