Deck overview

This Arcades, the Strategist deck converts cheap, high-toughness defender creatures into efficient combat threats and card draw engines. By casting low-mana defenders during the early turns, the deck sets up Arcades to enter on Turn 4, immediately unlocking massive combat damage assigned by toughness rather than power. Every subsequent defender cast replaces itself, creating continuous card velocity. The deck leverages powerful asymmetric board wipes like Slaughter the Strong and The Battle of Bywater to wipe away opposing boards while leaving its own low-power walls completely intact. Decisive combat finishes follow quickly on Turns 5 through 7 using mass pump and evasion spells such as Tower Defense, Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive, and Akroma's Will. Robust protection spells like Teferi's Protection and Heroic Intervention safeguard the board against disruption.
