The deck establishes early board presence through incremental taxing and token producers like Kambal, Consul of Allocation and Sedgemoor Witch. Once your engine is active, Niv-Mizzet converts every point of lifegain into raw cards, quickly refilling your hand. You ultimately win by generating overwhelming black mana with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and Cabal Coffers to fuel lethal multi-opponent drain sorceries like Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, and Debt to the Deathless, or by chaining spells freely via Bolas's Citadel.
