Deck overview

This Gruul deck leverages the commander pairing of Erinis, Gloom Stalker and Street Urchin to create a lethal control engine. Because Erinis has deathtouch, any damage dealt by its abilities instantly destroys target creatures. Street Urchin grants Erinis an activated ability to sacrifice an artifact or creature for one mana and deal one damage to any target, transforming cheap tokens like Treasures and Foods into targeted kill spells. While controlling the board, Erinis attacks each combat to recur lands from the graveyard, accelerating mana development and reusing utility lands like Encroaching Wastes. The deck closes games through compounding combat pressure from heavy hitters like Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos and Elder Gargaroth, backed by token swarms from Assault on Osgiliath. The strategy excels at grinding down creature-based strategies while generating substantial mana velocity, but remains vulnerable to board wipes and noncreature combo strategies due to limited stack interaction.
