Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Gruul aggro build commanded by Xenagos, God of Revels. The primary game plan focuses on deploying efficient mana dorks on Turns 1 and 2 to cast Xenagos ahead of schedule on Turn 3. On Turn 4, the deck deploys a high-power creature threat, which immediately receives haste and doubled power from Xenagos to attack for massive damage. Cards like Bloodthirster, Etali, Primal Conqueror, and Karlach, Fury of Avernus amplify this pressure through extra combat phases and free spells. A rich package of low-cost creature tutors provides consistent access to the best finisher for any board state. The deck protects its proactive combat plan using free or low-cost interaction like Deflecting Swat, Legolas's Quick Reflexes, and Red Elemental Blast, while Collector Ouphe slows down opposing artifact-heavy mana bases.
