Deck overview

The deck is a Golgari deathtouch/poison control build. The Serpent Society punishes opponents by imposing a five-poison ward cost and by forcing each opponent to sacrifice a nontoken creature whenever another deathtouch creature dies. The primary plan is to develop deathtouch dorks and Snake tokens, trade them profitably or sacrifice them for draw, and use Fynn, the Fangbearer plus proliferate and infect effects to turn small hits into poison wins. Secondary paths are wide-board overruns with Beastmaster Ascension and Triumph of the Hordes, and a grindier reanimation game with Meren, Dictate of Erebos, and Cauldron of Essence. There is no true double-faced or hidden commander; Fynn and Aphelia are alternate build-around pieces that support the same plan.
