Deck overview

This Abzan deck utilizes Ghave, Guru of Spores as a versatile engine piece, sacrifice outlet, and counter generator at the center of an aristocrats combo strategy. The primary game plan focuses on establishing mana acceleration through basic land ramp, developing +1/+1 counter amplifiers such as Hardened Scales, Conclave Mentor, or Doubling Season, and assembling sacrifice engines like Ashnod's Altar or Pitiless Plunderer. Once assembled, Ghave enables repeatable loops that generate infinite mana, infinite creature tokens, and infinite death triggers. The deck quickly translates these loops into immediate victories using drain outlets such as Corpse Knight, Zulaport Cutthroat, or Walking Ballista, alongside combat overruns with Craterhoof Behemoth or game-ending spells like Torment of Hailfire. Asymmetric stax pieces such as Grave Pact and Oppression control the board and tax opposing resources while the combo is assembled. The list features strong internal redundancy and resilient graveyard recursion, though it requires multiple permanents on the battlefield to close out games.
