King Under The Mountain by DT65

Format: Commander

Commander: Thorin Oakenshield

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Boros Dwarf-tribal historic deck built to turn the 'Storied' keyword into an enduring board advantage. Thorin Oakenshield is a cheap commander whose main job is enabling an early Storied count and giving artifacts and creatures ward {1}, but the deck does not rely on him to win. It develops a critical mass of legendary Dwarves, Equipment, and Sagas, then wins through combat with anthems and double-strike effects. Secondary paths include Magda, Brazen Outlaw tutoring and cheating large artifacts, or Balin, Loremaster refilling the hand while burning opponents. The plan is linear but resilient: it rarely produces a one-turn kill, but it can rebuild after removal and finish with a wide double-striking board.
