Deck overview

This mono-black control deck turns symmetrical discard into a strictly one-sided engine using Moonstone, Harsh Mistress. Moonstone exiles cards you discard from your graveyard, allowing you to play them until the end of your next turn. This unique trigger completely breaks the parity of devastating global discard spells such as Oppression, Necrogen Mists, and Mindslicer. While opponents bleed their hands and are forced into topdeck mode, your hand size effectively doubles into an exile-based staging zone. The deck controls the board with -1/-1 counters from Archfiend of Ifnir and creature removal like Toxic Deluge. Once the table is resource-starved, the deck leverages big mana engines like Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast to cast a lethal Torment of Hailfire or Exsanguinate, or overruns opponents with Zombie tokens generated by Tormod, the Desecrator and Bone Miser.
