Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger and draw-burn control strategy commanded by Niv-Mizzet, Parun. The game plan revolves around hitting land drops, developing colored mana through mana rocks and dorks, and resolving Niv-Mizzet on Turn 6. Once active, Niv-Mizzet converts every card drawn into targeted damage while drawing cards whenever any player casts an instant or sorcery. The deck leverages efficient cantrips, wheels like Windfall, and damage amplifiers like Tomik, Izzet Sparkmage to control opposing creature boards, protect its board state with flexible counterspells, and steadily burn down all three opponents. Secondary engines like Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, Body of Knowledge, and Ral, Crackling Wit provide resilience against commander removal. While the deck lacks instant two-card combo kills and requires careful management of its strict {U}{U}{U}{R}{R}{R} mana requirements, its sheer card velocity and incremental burn provide strong inevitable late-game pressure.
