Deck overview

This deck is a classic Golgari Aristocrats engine that converts creature deaths and lifegain triggers into steady card advantage, life drain, and board control. Helmed by Dina, Essence Brewer, the deck generates value by sacrificing disposable tokens from sources like Ophiomancer, Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, and Beledros Witherbloom to draw cards and pump key attackers. The primary game plan revolves around assembling a durable engine of sacrifice outlets, recurring fodder, and drain permanents such as Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Marionette Apprentice. Large threats like Daemogoth Titan and Wall of Blood serve as explosive power sources that can be sacrificed to Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord or converted into wide swarms with Tend the Pests. While the deck features premier permanent interaction and resilient graveyard recursion, it relies on permanent-heavy board states and lacks stack interaction, making it vulnerable to exile-based board wipes and fast noncreature combo strategies.
