Deck overview

This Abzan Commander deck centers on Olag and Miau, New Friends, uniting Cat and Zombie creature types into a synergistic go-wide token and life-drain engine. The strategy focuses on accelerating through early mana ramp, casting the commander on Turn 3, and deploying redundant token engines such as Leonin Warleader, Brimaz, King of Oreskos, Felidar Retreat, and Grave Titan. As Zombies enter, they place +1/+1 counters on Cats, and as Cats enter, they buff Zombies. The deck turns combat aggression into direct reach: at the end step, Olag drains each opponent for the number of tapped Cats and Zombies controlled. Supporting engines like Caretaker's Talent, Folk Hero, and Cryptbreaker maintain steady card flow, while Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar provides protection during your active turns. Flexible removal including Swords to Plowshares, Assassin's Trophy, and Toxic Deluge handles opposing threats. The deck reliably presents critical lethality on Turn 6 and finishes the table on Turn 7.
