Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is a spellslinger burn strategy led by Kuja, Genome Sorcerer // Trance Kuja, Fate Defied. The primary game plan establishes an army of Wizard pingers through cheap creatures, token spells, and Kuja's end-step triggers. Once four Wizards are present, Kuja transforms into Trance Kuja, doubling all damage dealt by Wizards. The deck then chains low-cost noncreature spells, cantrips, and rituals to burn all opponents simultaneously. The list features high functional redundancy among its pingers, including Guttersnipe, Coruscation Mage, and Firebrand Archer, paired with damage amplifiers such as Tor Wauki the Younger and City on Fire. Interaction is robust against artifacts, creatures, and enchantments, while big mana spells like Mana Geyser and Storm-Kiln Artist enable decisive closing turns. The deck's primary vulnerabilities lie in its reliance on creature tokens surviving sweeper effects and a lack of countermagic to protect critical combo turns.
