Spell Check by Modernberet

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Grixis spellslinger deck is helmed by Fire Lord Azula, whose combat trigger generates red mana and copies spells during combat. The primary strategy is to develop a battlefield presence of magecraft payoffs and damage multipliers, then use rituals to generate explosive mana, cast a chain of spells, and copy them via Azula and other copy effects to deal lethal damage to all opponents. The deck can also pivot to extra turns via Nexus of Fate and recursion with Yawgmoth's Will and Underworld Breach for inevitability. It is a high-risk, high-reward tempo deck that aims to win in a single explosive combat step.
