Who Is Thassa Though

Format: Commander

Commander: Kenessos, Priest of Thassa

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Simic "sea monsters" tribal deck helmed by Kenessos, Priest of Thassa, built around a scry-then-cheat engine. The core loop is to establish a scry source, arrange a Kraken/Leviathan/Octopus/Serpent on top of the library, then activate Kenessos's {3}{G/U} ability to put that creature directly onto the battlefield for a fraction of its mana cost. The deck backs this with a dense landfall value package (Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait, Tatyova, Benthic Druid, Oracle of Mul Daya) and an unusually deep counterspell suite. It wins through combat with enormous, often hexproof or ward-protected sea creatures, with Koma, World-Eater and Glacier Godmaw providing the closing punch. There are no infinite combos - this is a midrange inevitability deck that grinds to a board of 8/8+ monsters and runs opponents over.
