Deck overview

This Orzhov deck operates as a stax and group-slug engine led by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. The primary strategy focuses on deploying early asymmetric hate pieces, including Drannith Magistrate, Archon of Emeria, Blind Obedience, and Oppression, to severely restrict opposing development and discard hands. Liesa, Shroud of Dusk lands on Turn 4 to tax every spell cast by 2 life, while her 5/5 flying lifelink body buffers life totals and pressures life counts. The deck breaks parity through potent card engines like Necropotence, The One Ring, Trouble in Pairs, and Black Market Connections. A compact mill combo featuring Helm of Obedience and Rest in Peace provides targeted player elimination alongside continuous life-drain attrition from Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and Kambal, Consul of Allocation. Liesa's unique tax mechanic pays life instead of commander tax mana, making the commander resilient against repeated removal.
