Deck overview

This deck is a classic Sultai ramp and midrange strategy centered on Zaxara, the Exemplary. The early game focuses on establishing a mana advantage using green land-ramp spells and artifacts. Once Zaxara hits the battlefield, every spell with {X} in its mana cost creates a scaling Hydra token, effectively doubling the value of each spell cast. The midgame multiplies these threats using counter doublers like Branching Evolution, Doubling Season, and Kalonian Hydra. Evasion enablers such as Herald of Secret Streams, Garruk's Uprising, and Champion of Lambholt ensure that large ground creatures bypass opposing blockers. The deck finishes games through overwhelming combat damage across multiple attack steps. While vulnerable to mass creature removal and lacking infinite combo finishes, its high density of interchangeable threats and strong mana production provide resilient mid-to-late-game momentum.
