Deck overview

Kros, Defense Contractor leads a Bant politics deck that weaponizes counters: every +1/+1 counter-style effect, shield counter, stun counter, or proliferate that touches an opponent's creature becomes a tap-and-goad trigger, forcing the table to fight each other while you sit behind pillowfort pieces like Nils, Discipline Enforcer and Orzhov Advokist. Proliferate effects multiply your goad triggers, while tap-payoffs such as Hylda of the Icy Crown, Sharae of Numbing Depths, and Verity Circle convert forced taps into tokens, cards, and more counters. There is no infinite combo; the deck wins by attrition, grinding the board down with goaded creatures and closing with counter-fed finishers like Sin, Unending Cataclysm, Sludge Monster, Experiment Kraj, or an Ominous Seas Kraken once everyone else has spent their resources.
