Deck overview

This mono-black deck is helmed by Xu-Ifit, Osteoharmonist, who reanimates creature cards from the graveyard as ability-less Skeletons. The deck turns Xu-Ifit's ability-stripping clause into an advantage by reanimating creatures with severe static penalties, most notably Death's Shadow, which enters as a full 13/13 creature without losing power to your life total. It also cheats out massive beaters like Ancient Stone Idol and Artisan of Kozilek. After deploying these oversized threats, the deck converts high power and mana value into resources using cards like Disciple of Bolas, Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar, and Ghoulcaller Gisa. The primary win route relies on attacking with massive creatures across consecutive turns. While the reanimated creatures are vulnerable to chump blockers and lack innate protection, cheap 'undying' style instants defend key pieces against destroy effects.
