Deck overview

This mono-black combo deck is built around K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, using his Phyrexian mana conversion to turn life totals into explosive mana velocity. The primary game plan seeks to quickly deploy K'rrik on Turn 3 or 4, then immediately resolve an entomb-and-reanimate line. The centerpiece combo utilizes Buried Alive to place Necrotic Ooze, Asmodeus the Archfiend, and Skirge Familiar into the graveyard, returning Necrotic Ooze with Reanimate or Animate Dead. Because Necrotic Ooze inherits Asmodeus's draw ability without its exile drawback, the deck draws its entire library, generates infinite black mana via Skirge Familiar, and wins on the spot with Tendrils of Agony, Exsanguinate, or repeated Gray Merchant of Asphodel triggers. Supported backup lines include Peer into the Abyss, Hoarding Broodlord convoke chains, and Bolas's Citadel value engines, providing resilience even if K'rrik is removed.
