Deck overview

Smeagol, Helpful Guide leads a Golgari value-combo deck that turns creature deaths into repeated Ring-tempt triggers, stealing lands from opponents to accelerate mana. The primary plan combines this stolen land with landfall payoffs and an aristocrats shell, then assembles an infinite sacrifice loop with Ashnod's Altar, Pitiless Plunderer, and Reassembling Skeleton, killing via Blood Artist or similar drain effects. Bolas's Citadel offers a secondary path, chaining spells from the top and potentially finishing with its sacrifice ability. Syr Konrad and mill effects provide an alternate damage route. The deck is resilient with multiple recursion pieces and protection spells, though its speed depends on establishing Smeagol's engine early.
