Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Villain tribal midrange strategy led by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria. It pairs the connive mechanic with tribal combat synergies and discard burn triggers. Early turns focus on establishing mana fixing and deploying low-cost Villains such as Baron Strucker, HYDRA Overlord and Prowler, Clawed Thief. Once Doctor Doom enters on Turn 4, every combat step triggers connive, filtering cards, buffing attackers with +1/+1 counters and menace, and burning each opponent for 2 damage whenever a land is discarded. In the mid-to-late game, high-impact payoffs like The Squadron Sinister, Archfiend of Ifnir, and Roaming Throne turn incremental card filtering into one-sided board wipes, wide evasive swings, and direct life drain. The deck maintains consistent recovery through graveyard mayhem abilities and reanimation effects, closing out games by Turn 8 through overwhelming combat pressure and life loss.
