Experience Blink by user6594026

Format: Commander

Commander: Azlask, the Swelling Scourge

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Azlask, the Swelling Scourge heads a five-color experience-counter blink deck. Azlask is a single-faced commander, and there is no hidden commander replacing it. The primary plan is to stockpile experience counters from colorless Eldrazi token deaths and leave-the-battlefield triggers, then turn them into a lethal board with Azlask's WUBRG overrun or the token payoffs Daxos the Returned, Otharri Suns' Glory, and Minthara Merciless Soul. Secondary, usually faster, lines are infinite blink/sacrifice loops: Ashnod's Altar plus Eldrazi Displacer and Drowner of Hope, or Emiel the Blessed plus Emrakul's Hatcher, create unlimited colorless mana and ETB/death triggers. Corpse Knight converts those triggers into a kill, while Azlask supplies the alternate finisher. The commander is a payoff/engine support rather than a required combo piece; several experience-counter legends act as sub-engines.
