Deck overview

This Athreos, God of Passage deck is a dedicated Shadowborn Apostle aristocrats strategy. By running 28 copies of Shadowborn Apostle, the deck achieves exceptional opening consistency, reliably casting multiple 1-mana Clerics in the opening turns. On Turn 4, sacrificing six Apostles cheats game-ending Demons directly from the library onto the battlefield, primarily Razaketh, the Foulblooded or Valgavoth, Terror Eater. Athreos punishes opponents with a 3-life tax for each dying creature or returns them directly to hand. The deck converts this board presence into a decisive win on Turn 5 by chaining burst mana from Songs of the Damned into mass return spells like Raise the Past and Fix What's Broken, draining all three opponents through Zulaport Cutthroat and Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim.
