Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black attrition and graveyard combat strategy commanded by Zodiark, Umbral God. Early turns focus on milling cards into graveyards using cards like Mesmeric Orb, Mindwrack Demon, and various low-cost creature millers. Once five black mana is available on Turn 5, Zodiark, Umbral God enters the battlefield, forcing each player to sacrifice half their non-God creatures and growing in size from every sacrificed body. Supported by reanimation spells like Reanimate and Animate Dead, as well as alternate beaters such as Barrowgoyf and Tergrid, God of Fright, the deck aims to grind down opposing boards and close the game through combat damage. The interactive package is distinguished by uncounterable split-second removal spells like Sudden Spoiling and Sudden Death alongside flash hate pieces like Opposition Agent and Orcish Bowmasters. However, the deck suffers from a lack of evasion, zero artifact or enchantment removal, and no dedicated protection against exile effects.
