Betor Deck by Slasher66

Format: Commander

Commander: Betor, Ancestor's Voice

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Abzan life-gain/loss deck is helmed by Betor, Ancestor's Voice, a spirit dragon that turns each end step into dual value: +1/+1 counters equal to life gained that turn, and recursion of a creature with mana value life lost that turn. The deck is a classic life-gain combo engine, centered on the deterministic infinite drain loop of Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond (or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose / Enduring Tenacity). It also packs the Heliod, Sun-Crowned + Walking Ballista infinite-damage combo and the Exsanguinate big-mana finisher. Betor provides resilient recursion and counter distribution, but the deck does not rely on him to execute its combos-the critical pieces all live in the 99. Life-gain enablers like Soul Warden and Essence Warden fuel both the commander's triggers and the Sanguine Bond loops, while cards like Bolas's Citadel and Phyrexian Arena provide card advantage to dig toward the win.
