Commander: Mirko, Obsessive Theorist

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Dimir "surveil matters" reanimator deck built around Mirko, Obsessive Theorist. Every surveil - from one-mana cantrips like Consider and Curate to Doom Whisperer's activated ability - puts a counter on Mirko, and at each end step he resurrects the strongest creature whose power fits under his. The true hidden commander of the 99 is Doom Whisperer, the repeatable surveil engine that unlocks the big reanimation targets while feeding the graveyard. A full spell-reanimation suite (Reanimate, Animate Dead, Necromancy, Charnel Serenade, Connive // Concoct, Rise of the Dark Realms) backs up the commander. The deck wins through attrition: evasive flyers, chip drain from Syr Konrad, the Grim and Twilight Prophet, the extra beginning phases of Sphinx of the Second Sun, and the rare extra turn from Ultimecia, Omnipotent. There are no infinite combos; this is a grind deck that out-cards and out-recurs the table from turns 6-10.
