Commander: Rakdos, Lord of Riots

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Rakdos, Lord of Riots is a damage-first combo-aggro deck. It spends the first turns making opponents lose life with Spear Spewer, Tectonic Hazard, and Flame Rift, then casts Rakdos and uses the same life loss to discount enormous creature spells. Eldrazi annihilator threats, Neheb's postcombat mana, and Angrath's Marauders set up either a lethal Exsanguinate or an overwhelming attack. Alena and Vial Smasher are value pieces in the 99, not secret commanders. There is no double-faced commander; the deck is built entirely around Rakdos's discount engine. A secondary path uses Quicksilver Amulet to cheat Eldrazi into play, but most wins route through Rakdos's cost reduction.
